MEET THE AMAZING, FANTASTIC, FORMIDABLE "JESSIE NEWAH"

In a bubble burst to look through her movie career, one wouldn’t be wrong to say that JESSIE NEWAH who originates from the North West Region of Cameroon and born within the early 80s has lived beyond
passion and persistence as her amalgamation into the film sector meanders back through to 1994 when
she joined the vast cast and crew of one of the first major inter-Cameroon – Nigerian movie; PEACE
OFFERING. Her stamina then, waved a lot of attention thus pulling her to joining the pivots that include
Vugah Samson, Nsuh George, Angu Bernard and many more to the creation of the National Actors Guild
of Cameroon (NAGCAM); the syndicate that till date, protects the rights of Cameroonian actor/actresses.
Her mating with consistency landed her roles in further Cameroonian movies like THE GIANT BROOM,
FORBIDDEN DESIRE, ILLUSION and ZINTGRAFF AND THE BATTLE OF MANKON; a Cameroonian TV series for CRTV directed by one of Cameroon’s finest Director; Musing Derick Tenn just to name but a few. While she remained passionate about being infront of the camera, her quest for knowledge pushed her to pick up studies as a script supervisor. It wasn’t long before she earned a crew job under this domain in movies like: WHO AM I and GAINING THE GAME wherein she worked alongside an awesome crew partner brain: Shelly Akenji.

If one thing is not to be downplayed upon, it is the fact that Jessie Newah has always loved to look good
and unique in her dressing style especially with peculiarity to self–African designs. This pushed her to
develop a great prowess for fashion designing. Sooner than later, she told herself “maybe this is what I’ve
been looking for”. This utter radiated her into taking the passion for fashion designing and costuming into
movies. In less than no time, she earned a job as costumier/costume designer in the movies; WHO AM I,
DARK SUNSHINE and the multiple award winning movie KISS OF DEATH all produced by ALA LEO for Ala LEO Entertainment and EdithP Studios and directed by Musing Derick Tenn. Few months after the first official premier of KISS OF DEATH in the United States of America, it saw one of its lead characters in the name of Onyama Laura winning an award for Best Cameroonian actress at the Black Screen Film Festival (ECRANS NOIR). This movie that also stars the likes of Cameroonian screen gems like LIBOTA
MACDONALD, VUGAH SAMSON, COSSON CHINEPOH, EYO EYO MICHEAL, ALA LEO and LINA IKE all based in Cameroon and award winning EDITH PIKWA and MAT ATUGON both based in the United states of America has hitherto now grabbed many more awards and has dawned countless nominations both nationally and internationally.
While holding on to her new found dream; Costume design which has taken her to the recent participation
at international film festivals and awards like the just ended ABUJA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL and the MAGIC LENS AWARD also in Abuja that saw the culture promoter legend; Fobuzi Cletus Awah (AC Risky) returning home with a prestigious award for cultural promotion, Jessie gears up big to launching her own African fashion brand that will be called JESNEY KREATIVE in a few months ahead. Her dream is to take fashion designing both for movies and individuals to an unimaginable brim
